WHAT’S HAPPENING IN FORD’S COLONY

FCHOA NEWS
New - JUNE SOFT PLASTICS AND SNEAKERS DAY
Saturday, June 27 | 9 - 10 a.m. | Westbury Park

* Please note that we will not hold a collection on July 4th due to the Ford’s Colony Parade.

As long as it is not raining, we will collect sneakers, in any condition, tied together, for refurbishing and recycling. We also collect SOFT plastic including grocery, mulch, produce, and Ziploc bags. We cannot accept bottles, clamshells, foam, or plastic that does not stretch (i.e. candy wrappers, dog food bags, and dollar store plastic tablecloths). Click here for more information on acceptable materials or contact fcsoftplastic@gmail.com. Reduce, Reuse Recycle!

PUBLIC SCHOOL REDISTRICTING PROPOSED TO SPLIT FORD'S COLONY
The attached proposed redistricting plan flyer would divide Ford’s Colony students among multiple schools, disrupting established peer relationships, support systems, and the continuity many students have experienced throughout their educational journey.

Research consistently shows that school stability and strong peer and community connections play an important role in student success, engagement, and overall well-being.

Please join us at any of the future school board meetings to voice your concern, have your questions answered and stand up for the residence of Ford’s Colony and our kids.

See full letter attached below. Contact redistrictingmattersfc@gmail.com with any questions.

LEISURE TRAIL REPAIRS
Staff began removing sections of asphalt that are damaged by roots in the leisure trail last week and will continue over the next couple of months. A contractor will follow behind staff to fill these sections in with asphalt typically 2-3 days after removal, but weather and asphalt availability could prolong this process. While this project is underway, cones will section off the portions of the asphalt that were removed. Please use caution while this work takes place and be prepared to go off the path in these areas.
