Running Club Runs
Sunday, March 17th to Sunday, April 7th, 8 a.m. at Westbury Park
The Running Club will have its next two monthly Sunday runs on 3/17 and 4/7. Everyone, at all running levels, is welcome to participate. Also, the club is in the beginning stages of planning a Colony-wide 5K for the fall. For more info, contact Karen and Joe DiNuzzo at running.fchoa@ gmail.com.
 
FCDB "Swinging into Spring" Concert
Thursday, March 28th, 7:30 p.m. at Williamsburg Regional Library Theater
The Ford's Colony 17 piece Dance Band will be performing a 90 minute concert of swing music, including songs like: "All of Me", "American Patrol", "In the Mood", "Satin Doll". Admission is free but seating is limited, so arrive early.  For more information view the flyer.
 
Ford's Colony Garden Club
Friday, March 29th, 6:30 to 9 p.m. at S&T Club
Join us for our 2019 Nature Camp Scholarship "Fun" Raiser Event, March 29 at the S&T Club. Ford's Colony Garden Club members will donate/solicit various items to auction. Enjoy delicious nibbles as you bid $1/paddle for items that catch your fancy. The event is open to all Ford's Colony residents and guests. 
Cost is $20 per person, includes one paddle for bidding, one glass of wine and a seat. Must be present to win. Additional paddles may be purchased for $10 each. Additional wine may be purchased for $5 each.

Annual Tennis Club Meeting
Saturday, March 30th, 11:15 a.m. at S&T
The Annual Tennis Club Meeting will be held on Saturday, March 30 at the S&T Club beginning at 11:15 a.m. New officers will be elected and the 2019-2020 budget will be approved. Light refreshments. All FC residents are welcome to come check out the Tennis Club!
 
AARP SmartDriver Course
Monday, April 8th at S&T Club
Mondays, April 8 and 15, 2019.  Must attend both days. Each session will begin at 1 p.m. and end at 5 p.m.  However, for the opening day, participants must arrive by 12:45 p.m. to allow enough time to complete the registration process before the session starts. AARP SmartDriver members need to bring card for discount.  All attendees need to bring drivers license. $15 Members/ $20 Non-members.  Contact: Jack Oates at 757-645-4321 or jackoates@cox.net.
 
Trailblazers Club
Monday, April 8th, 7 p.m. at S&T Club
On April 8, Trailblazers will host a speaker from the Valentine Museum who will discuss the history of African Americans in Richmond. The Valentine Museum has been collecting, preserving and interpreting Richmond history for over a century. Our program will explore how African Americans have influenced Richmond communities from early settlement and the slave trade to the establishment of businesses and communities. All are welcome to come learn about this aspect of Richmond history and to find out more about our planned Spring outings for walkers, bikers, and kayakers.
 
Aging in Place Seminar

'Alexa is NOT a Real Person' - An overview of moving to Voice Activated Technology. This will include specific examples of the pieces and parts needed to move into spoken relationship with your technology gadget. Rolf Kramer is the speaker.  More information.
 
Newcomers "Night Out"
Friday, April 19th, 6:30 p.m. at S&T Club

Newcomers next monthly “Night Out” on April 19 at the S&T Club will begin with refreshments at 6.30 p.m. Featured presenters will be our two representatives on the JCC Board of Supervisors. They will discuss and answer questions about how the Board decisions impact our lives and in what ways they represent residents.

Introduce yourself to other residents by joining one or more mini clubs, such as Wine and Dine; BYOB; Ladies, Men’s, and Couples’ Lunch Groups; and Book Clubs. These are all great ways to socialize and make new friends.

 
Free Tennis Clinics
Wednesday, April 24th
Register by April 24 for FREE fundamental tennis clinics at FCTennisBoard@gmail.com. The first 8 adult residents (own/rent) to sign up will have a chance to work with Instructor, Bob Zaeh, on April 29 and May 3 to begin learning the game or brush up on skills to get them back onto the courts. Both clinics will be held at the S&T courts from 11 a.m. to noon. Come join in the fun of this lifelong sport!
 
Dance Club Spring Fling Ballroom Dance
