Unlike other medical treatments, blood cannot be stockpiled. It must be constantly replenished because it is only viable for transfusion for a few weeks and in some cases, as with platelets, only a few days. Without it, lifesaving treatments and critical access to care are not possible. Emergency rooms can't function; maternity wards can't operate; cancer patients must wait.

 

Emergency Blood & Platelet Shortage
The American Red Cross is declaring an emergency blood shortage as the blood supply fell nearly 25% in June. The shortage is especially serious for types O positive and B negative blood and platelets. Donors are urgently needed to give now to help ensure patients receive lifesaving medical care without delay. Don’t wait - schedule your appointment today.

Ford’s Colony Yard Sale

September 12 | 9 a.m. to Noon| Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex (WISC)

Vendor sign up is now until spaces are filled. The first 10 to sign up will get one 8’ table, after that you will need to provide your own equivalent size table. (Chairs are provided.)

To confirm your reservation, a check for $30 needs to be placed in an envelope, addressed and made payable to Phyllis Eastman, and dropped off to the John Pott Guardhouse. Included in the envelope your name, mailing address, and phone number. If this information is not included you will not be included in the yard sale. When you drop off your envelope, ask for your sign-up number, so you will know if you have a table or need to bring one. Payment is non-refundable. A handout on the day of the Yard Sale will indicate your table location.
