HUMANE CANADA GOOSE POPULATION CONTROL
The Ford’s Colony Country Club (FCCC) is working with the Virginia Department of Wildlife (DWR) on alternate mitigation methods to move geese from our ponds. Because the FCHOA is responsible for a portion of the ponds, our staff and volunteers will participate. See the attached flyer for specific details. This initiative will occur in February and March.

Ford’s Colony 5th Annual Community Egg (ACE) Initiative begins March 11. Population control of the prolific Canada goose is not an IF but a HOW. FCHOA and FCCC support this humane, non-lethal means for goose population management. Become a steward of a healthy goose presence. See January Talk of the Colony page 12 or contact joanne.zysk.bell@gmail.com.

COMMUNITY

JAMES CITY COUNTY FIX IT APP
James City County has partnered with CivicPlus®, a public sector SaaS leader, to develop an app which allows county residents and visitors to report quality-of-life issues and request government services.

The James City County Fix It application enables residents to report issues on the go, track progress and receive real-time updates from relevant local government departments. The software also notifies residents if they begin to submit a request already in the system so they can follow the existing request instead.

The mobile app, James City County Fix It, is available for download on any iOS or Android device. Residents can also access the system from their desktop via the County’s website.
