Garden Club
Ford’s Colony Garden Club is an active organization with 200+ members focused on beautification and conservation initiatives through environmental education, community involvement and fundraising. One of the first clubs formed in Ford’s Colony in 1988, we have cultivated a rich history of gardening, philanthropy and friendship. The club was federated in 1990 with the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs until 2008 when the club shifted its focus from awards and juried events to promoting the study of horticulture, flower arranging, conservation of native trees, birds and flowers and encouraging civic planning and beautification. Our club has given grants and scholarships since its inception—providing 52 scholarships and local grants totaling more than $60,000 in award in the last 10 years.

We meet on the second Wednesday of the month at the S&T Club, starting at 9 a.m. for social time and 9:30 a.m. for the meeting and program. We feature guest speakers on topics from floral design, conservation and invasive species, landscaping, container gardening, native plants, herbs, birds, butterflies and bees. In December and June, we have luncheons in lieu of meetings and are on hiatus in July and August. Dues are $20 per year. We can be reached at GardenClubFC@gmail.com
