GET TO KNOW THE HOA BOARD CANDIDATES
If you missed the recent "Meet the Candidates" meetings, you can view the video by logging in to your Portal. The link to the video is in the "Links" box on the Home page. You also can read their bios in the November issue of Talk of the Colony.
 
TOWN HALL – PROPOSED GOVERNING DOCUMENT CHANGES
Wednesday, November 5 | 6:30 p.m. | S&T Club
 
The Board will host a Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, November 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Swim & Tennis Club to discuss proposed amendments to the Declaration and Bylaws. The meeting will be recorded and posted for your convenience. 
 
You will also see information about the proposed changes in Official Bulletins emailed to you and in an article in the November Talk of the Colony magazine.
 
The Board recommends your approval of the proposed amendments. Please vote. Voting for the Board of Directors and the Governing Documents amendments opens on Monday October 27 and closes at noon on December 11. The Election is in the Portal and a paper ballot was delivered to you with the November Talk of the Colony magazine. Either voting method is acceptable. Only one vote per unit is permitted.
 
TOWN HALL - PROPOSED 2026 FCHOA BUDGET
Wednesday, November 12 | 6:30 p.m. | S&T Club
 
The Town Hall Meeting for the 2026 FCHOA Budget will be held on November 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the S&T Club.  The Treasurer, Gary Porter, pre-recorded the presentation of the proposed 2026 Budget which may be viewed here.  A .pdf file of the proposed budget can be viewed here.
 
The presentation is about 11 minutes long and will not be replayed at the meeting on November 12, so please view it in advance and submit your questions to budgetquestions@fchoa.net. 
 
Questions received in advance of the town hall meeting at the email address budgetquestions@fchoa.net will start off the question-and-answer session.  The Treasurer will also answer questions as they are received during the meeting.  The meeting will be recorded and posted on the Resident Portal after the event.
 
CPR/AED CLASSES

HeartSaver (2-Year Certification Course) - November 10 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. - $20 per person
 
CPR/AED Class – Non-Certification Class – November 17 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
 
HeartSaver (2-Year Certification Course) – December 8 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. - $20 per person
 
ARE YOU UP TO DATE?
Check your Portal settings to make sure they are up to date. Why?
 
 - The new Security Guest Pass system (TEKWAVE) will soon be launched, and it will use the same data for you that is in your Portal (phone numbers, email, address)
 - You may have disconnected a home phone number
 - You may have changed your email address
 To review and make any changes:
 - Login to your Portal
 - Click on “My Profile” in the left blue pane
 - In the “General” box, click on the [Edit] button to make changes

GATE SYSTEM UPGRADE UPDATE
Guest access is still operating on the dwellingLIVE platform. Please continue to use dwellingLIVE for guest management and watch for updates coming from FCHOA by official emails, in this weekly email, the TOC magazine and flyers for the next steps.

DENIM & DIAMONDS DANCE PARTY

Join the Dance Club and enjoy A Little Country and A Little Rock ‘n’ Roll themed event with music by Joe’s Day Off. Casual attire – anything denim and plenty of bling. Admission is $15, BYOB. Make checks payable to Jeanne Kushubar, place in an envelope marked “Dance Club” and drop off at the John Pott guardhouse. This event is open to all Ford’s Colony residents.
 
WHAT IS A BOTTLE BILL?

Join the Green Team on November 19 at 7 p.m. at the S&T to learn about the Virginia Bottle Bill and simple things we can do to move toward zero waste.
 
ARTIST & ARTISANS: APPLY NOW
Showcase your talent at the Artist & Artisans Expo on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the S&T Club. Applications will be accepted through November 14, 2025 for experienced artists (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, multimedia, pen and ink) and artisans (glass blowing, hand-crafted furniture, pottery, fine weaving). FORD'S COLONY TURKEY TROT
Thursday, November 27 | 9 a.m. | Belvedere in the Circle
 
The Ford’s Colony Runners' Club, in coordination with the Ford’s Colony Country Club, is hosting a Turkey Trot on November 27, Thanksgiving morning.  This will be a family-oriented, non-competitive, timed, 2-mile run/walk.  All residents and their visitors and friends are warmly welcome to participate.  It will start at 9 a.m. at the Belvedere in the circle near the country club. Parking will be available in the club non-member lot.  This is a free event, with bottled water and bananas at the finish.  Pre-registration to running.fchoa@gmail.com is recommended but not required.  A rock band has been invited to play.  Please consider participating in this fun, festive event. 
 
CALLING ALL PERFORMERS
Auditions for the 2026 Theatre Club's Talent Show will be held in January. See the SAVE THE DATE section for dates and times. Contact Director, Ginger Kroncke, at activities-chair@fchoa.com for more information.
 
COLONY KIDS NEEDS SOME ADULTS
Colony Kids plans activities and events for children in the neighborhood. This includes Trunk or Treat, SpringFest, and the annual holiday party! Interested in helping out?
