NOTES FROM THE FEBRUARY BOARD MEETING
TREE REMOVAL AND MOVING WALKING PATH
Vegetation and tree removal will take place on Edinburgh between John Pott and Tayside (only the cherry tree portion) on both sides of the road beginning this week and will take place for the next 2-3 weeks. This maintenance is required for the numerous drainage pipes that run under Edinburgh. This removal is needed every 10 or so years and is important to assure proper drainage under Edinburgh. In addition to the work for the drainage pipes, select trees will be removed and limbed up that are encroaching towards Edinburgh.
While this work takes place, please use caution while you are driving. Contractor will start on the side opposite the walking path this week and will move to the walking path side next week. A blast e-mail will go out when the walking path side is ready to begin, cautioning walkers that they will not be able to access this portion of the path. We will be strongly encouraging everyone to turn around where the path is closed and not try and walk up or down Edinburgh to go around the work. Thank you for your patience while this necessary maintenance work is being completed.

The goose population does not increase and negative outcomes from a dense goose presence are avoided. Turf damage is reduced and recreational conditions are optimized. Google maps of each pond are provided, showing nest locations from the past 3 years. Join in the highest standard for humane goose management.
FORD’S COLONY MODEL RAILROAD - OPEN HOUSE LAYOUT TOUR
On April 27, six members of the Ford’s Colony Model Railroad Club will open their homes to residents and friends to show their model railroads. More details in the April Talk of the Colony.
FORD’S COLONY BOARD GAMING CLUB?
Consideration is being given to forming a Ford’s Colony Board Gaming Club where residents can connect with others with similar interests to form new friendships through social interaction and game play. This communication is to gauge community interest. Residents should be willing to bring games they would like to play with others and should also be open to trying games they have never played before. Due to the venue availability considerations, Monday afternoons one or two times per month is the likely format.
If interested, please email Ron Maier at
remaier1956@gmail.com by March 14. Please provide your name, number of participants and favorite board games.
